2. An "Accessory Structure" is a detached, subordinate structure located on the same lot as the principal building at that address; the use of which is customary and incidental to the use of the principal building. Examples of Accessory Structures include, but are not limited to: detached garages, guest houses, barns, pool houses, and storage sheds. Swimming pools and tennis courts (when not enclosed) are considered to be Recreational Uses, but must adhere to Accessory Structure setback requirements. 4. Applying Online

   To apply for this type of permit, you will need to provide the following items:

   1. Completed General Permit Application
   2. Stamped structural plans
   3. Architectural plans
   4. Floor plans and/or other necessary plans or specifications to demonstrate Building Code compliance
   5. Site plan showing all existing and proposed site improvements, easements, 1 ft. contours in USGS elevations, and floodplain boundaries
   6. Height calculations is USGS elevations
   7. Building elevations demonstrating compliance with bulk plane and building height requirements in USGS elevations
   8. Soils investigation if structure is greater than 1000 square feet
   9. Energy compliance path, if space is conditioned
   10. Manual J and supporting documents
   11. Construction staging plan
   12. Right-of-way photos, unless street is privately maintained
   13. Right-of-Way permit application (processed by Public Works), unless street is privately maintained
   14. Stormwater Management Plan & completed Stormwater Construction Permit Application, if construction will disturb ≥ 1 acre of land
   15. Proof of sewer permit or sewer release form, if there is plumbing or any sewer line work associated with project

   A plan review fee of $340 is required for all Accessory Structures. Payment is accepted via Xpress Bill Pay. Once your payment has been processed, enter your name and the Transaction Number of your payment in the fields below.
