No Proof of Insurance Charge
If you have received a citation for "No Proof of Insurance" and you have proof of insurance that was valid on the day the citation was issued, you are eligible to have your charge dismissed. You must show valid proof to the Municipal Court office. This can be done by faxing proof to (303) 761-9386 or emailing proof to email@example.com
. You may also bring your original insurance card or letter from your insurance agent to the Municipal Court office during normal business hours. The Municipal Court Clerk is charged with contacting all insurance agents to verify the insurance that was provided. If your insurance cannot be verified by an insurance agent, your charge will not be dismissed.
Once the insurance has been verified, the charge will be dismissed. There is a fine of $25 associated with the no proof of insurance charge. The fine is payable by cash, check, money order or credit card over the telephone. To pay over the telephone, please call (303) 783-2720 during normal business hours.
