Examples of non-residential structures include academic buildings, retail buildings, and commercial country club buildings. Barns, cabanas and detached garages are examples of Accessory Structures. Sport courts, swimming pools, and outdoor kitchens are examples of Recreational Structures. Please note that the removal of an entire structure to accommodate a New Non-Residential Structure requires a separate demolition permit from the City, which can only be issued after receipt of approval from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Please also note that all requirements of Municipal Code Section 16-20 (Expanded Use) must be satisfied prior to applying for a building permit, as applicable. If you have questions, call the Community Development Department at 303-783-2721.
